Submit your latest and most impactful research for consideration.


  • FungalDx26 invites abstract submissions across key areas of fungal disease diagnostics. Priority for presentation at the main conference will be given to clinical case submissions that highlight diagnostic challenges and illustrate a bench-to-bedside approach.
  • Abstracts can be submitted via the online portal below. Accepted cases will be presented by the submitter during the conference in an interactive session, alongside a panel of expert discussants.
  • ISHAM Membership is not required to submit an abstract. However, if you apply for any funding from ISHAM (i.e. Travel Award), Membership is REQUIRED to receive an award. 
  • The abstract submitter must be the first/presenting author.
  • The presenting author must register for the event using the same email address used for the abstract submission.
  • The Presenting Author agrees to be available to present in Bethesda, MD, USA on December 2-4, 2026.
  • The Presenting Author is responsible for all expenses related to the presentation of their abstract(s) if accepted to the program.
  • Fungal Dx 2026 does not provide funding, registration waivers or other support.
  • Fungal Dx 2026 must be the first major presentation of the abstract.
  • Encore Abstracts presented at previous meetings will not be accepted.

General terms

To begin the submission process, you must first create a contact using this link or the submission buttons on this page. After creating a contact, additional tabs will appear that will enable you to upload and submit your presentation.

Presentation Type

Abstracts are presented in Oral or Poster format at Fungal Dx 26 Conference.

  • Oral abstracts are presented within scientific sessions.
  • Posters are presented in the Poster Hall with abstracts printed and displayed on a poster board.

Abstract Formatting

  • Your abstract may have up to 400 words (minimum 100 words), which does not include title, authors, groups and affiliations.
  • Your abstract should be written with the use of the following bolded headers:
  • Background
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion
  • Spaces are not counted.
  • Do not include abstract title, authors or keywords in abstract text.
  • Tables and graphics (maximum of 500 characters) are not included in the character count.

How to Format Your Poster:

  • Maximum size: A0 (0.84 × 1.19 m), portrait orientation.
  • Upper left-hand corner: Clearly display your assigned presentation number and presentation date.
  • Upper right-hand corner: Include: FungalDx26 | December 2–4, 2026 | Bethesda, MD, USA
  • Centered at the top: Display the study title, followed by the author name(s) and institution(s). You may also include the email address of the presenting or corresponding author.
  • Main poster area: Present your study using concise text, figures, tables, graphs, and other visual elements.
  • In body of the poster should include a reproduction of your submitted abstract, organized under the following headings: Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions, References (optional), Discussion (optional).
  • Keep it concise: Posters should stimulate discussion rather than serve as a long presentation.
  • Minimize text: Use short statements and bullet points, which are easier to read.
  • Emphasize graphics: Use figures, photographs, graphs, charts, and tables to communicate your findings.
  • Balance text and visuals: Avoid unnecessary text and limit abbreviations.
  • Proofread carefully: Check spelling, grammar, and formatting before printing.
  • Use large, readable fonts: All materials should be easily readable from approximately 4 feet (1.2 m) away.
  • Avoid handwritten text: Use clear, professionally formatted text throughout.
  • Use clear fonts and good contrast: Ensure that text is easily distinguishable from the background.
  • Choose an appropriate background: Neutral or light grey backgrounds are generally easier on the eyes than bright colors. Color photographs often look best against a grey or neutral background.
  • Consider handouts: You may provide handouts or supplementary materials to allow attendees to explore your work in greater detail.
  • If your poster is being designed or printed by a third-party service, please make sure the designer/printer is aware of this policy and does not add commercial, product, or corporate logos to your poster.

General Guidelines:

  • Your assigned poster number will be displayed on the poster boards in the poster area.
  • Posters should be mounted on the day of your presentation before 9:30 AM.
  • Each poster will remain on display for the entire assigned day.
  • Posters must be removed at the end of the poster session and no later than 5:00 PM.
  • Presenters should be available at their posters from 12:00–1:30 PM during the designated poster viewing period to answer questions and discuss their work.


Tips for Presenting Your Poster:

  • Make eye contact with attendees.
  • Give attendees a moment to read and absorb your science before beginning your discussion.
  • Make your message memorable.
  • “Sell your science” in 10 seconds: Be prepared to explain the key finding or take-home message quickly.
  • Know your science: Be prepared to answer questions and discuss your methods, findings, and implications.
  • Network, network, network: Use the poster session as an opportunity to meet colleagues and establish collaborations.
  • Have business cards and contact information readily available.
